Rainy day run.....

Todays run was a 4 miler.  Ran out and back out of the neighborhood and got caught in the rain. At about mile one it started to rain and kept it up the rest of the way. My feet and knees are killing me. I think I need something other than my super flat inov8s for this much mileage.

Id really like to try a version of the Asics I ran in the other night. I found some. Just gotta find the $$$$. Unless Asics wants to sponsor me in my Half Marathon.  ;)

So......I'm training for a half marathon. Planning to run the Music City Half Marathon in October, the 13th to be exact. I found a 10 week training program, amazingly, 10 weeks to the day that I decided to do this craziness.  So I've been running my bootay off for the past few weeks, this week my long run on Saturday is a 6 miler. I've done 6 before so no biggie. Next week though, next week is an 8 mile long run. I may die. Last night I went to Fleet Feet in Murfreesboro (very cool place full of the cooliest of peeps) and participated in their first Monday Fun Run.  I did a 3 mile out and back loop. My second 3 miles for the day.  There was an Asics rep there and I got to demo run in a pair of Gel Nimbus 15's.  Nice shoes, too squishy for me though. She recommended the Gel Nimbus Lite. Nice shoes but $130+ bucks is kinda spendy. Although they do glow in the dark. Now that is almost worth the steep price tag.

Out to the grocery store for me. One day I'll get to putting some pictures on here.  The run last night took us across a bridge right in the middle of Murfreesboro.  If you don't walk or run over that bridge you would never know that right under it is a beautiful park and river with some gorgeous falls! Next week I'll get a picture. Reminded me to stop and look around every once in a while.

Primal Banana Bites

a little something from my previous blog which I neglected like the African violet on my windowsill.

SoG Banana Bites

2 bananas
3 c. nuts (I used 2 c. slivered almonds and 1 c. cashews b/c that's what we had)
1 c. shredded unsweetened coconut
2 eggs
Mix bananas, nuts and coconut in food processor until mixed, some chunks are ok and good!
Put in bowl and add eggs. Mix well.
Put in greased 8x8 pan, bake at 350 for about 30 minutes.
Cut into 4x4 squares for 16 yummilicious bites!

FANTASTIC!!!!

You may be bored reading this.....

and if you are then I'm sorry. Actually, I'm not, don't read it if I bore you. This blog is going to be full of my daily struggles to not eat everything in sight, my workout escapades, nutrition suggestions (notice I said suggestions....eat whatever the hell you want), and other shenanigans I get into. Along the way I hope that I might inspire just one person to be healthier or workout or take up knitting! Haha! I'll gladly answer any health and fitness questions, I have several CrossFit certifications and have been in this "industry" for many years. Ask away, I'll do my best to guide you in the right direction.
Stay tuned....this weekend consists of much wakeboarding and waterskiing. There are sure to be random bruises I can't explain and stories to be told!

I'm out, brussels sprout!
